The Santa Clara Guest House located within walking distance from Coimbra’s cultural sites combines old-fashioned charm with modern amenities. Sofia, the owner, can recommend some of the best restaurants in the area – don’t forget to ask! The B&B is also located next door to Dos Pequenitos, a miniature park featuring replicas of famous buildings and monuments in Portugal.

La Ferrade (Bordeaux, France)

This beautifully-furnished B&B is just a 20-minute bus ride from the city center. It’s a great value for money, and the owner, Yolande, is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet. She can prepare a great breakfast spread, and she can fill you in on some of the best restaurants in the area.

Iris (Alaverdi, Armenia)

Iris is the perfect stop if in Armenia if you’re traveling to Georgia. The city of Alaverdi itself isn’t that remarkable, but the Sanahin and Haghpat monasteries nearby are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and cannot be missed. The Kobayr and Akhtala monasteries are worth a visit, too. The owner, Irina, can even help you arrange tours to these monasteries. She will even prepare a full breakfast and an Armenian dinner – don’t forget to pay a little extra!

Zuza (Lisbon, Portugal)

Located right in the heart of the historic Chiado district, Zuza B&B is one of the best places to stay in Lisbon. Luis, the owner, makes it a point to give his guests a proper welcome, and can offer some great tips on the best places to explore. He even created his own app so you can still get his personal recommendations! Breakfast is always a delightful experience, with a great selection of homemade jams, pastries, eggs, and fresh fruit.

The Stop (Galway, Ireland)

This nice, quiet property in Galway offers one of the best breakfasts you will ever have in a B&B. It’s in a great location, and the owners will be more than happy to recommend restaurants and places that you can explore during your trip.

Parliament Penthouse Boutique B&B (Budapest, Hungary)

The rooms at this B&B range from traditional to modern with big shuttered windows that allow plenty of light inside. The best thing about this place, however, would have to be the views – the rooftop terrace gives you panoramic views of the beautiful city, and you can even spend evenings there with a bottle of wine and some sandwiches as you take in the view.

This calm retreat located in Ronda’s historic quarter offers great views of the Andalucian hills, as well as a nearby riding school. The lovely garden, beautiful rooms, and a huge breakfast spread on the patio are guaranteed to make your stay a pleasurable one.
