Clean More Than Your Teeth with Toothpaste

Toothpaste is a much-loved invention. It whitens our teeth, keeps our gums healthy, and freshens our breath. Regardless of the brand you use, there are more things to do with toothpaste than you thought. Here are some convenient hacks you use toothpaste for:

All Bottled Up

We all instantly regret putting anything but water in our favorite bottle or thermostat as taste and smell can linger for weeks. Are you relieved to find out that a bit of toothpaste can take that taste away? Just add some in the bottle, scrub where you can, then add water and give a shake.

For Your ‘Sole’

If your leather shoes have a bit of scuff or a stain on it, a bit of toothpaste applied with a soft cloth will get that out in no time. If you want to keep your sneakers white and polished, a bit of non-gel toothpaste and a small brush – like an old toothbrush – can go a long way. Just make sure you wipe off all the residue before you kick off to town.

In the Clear

Not all kinds of toothpaste do the same thing for your skin, so be careful with just applying random toothpaste to your skin. If you have some spots on your face that you’d like to get rid of, apply a bit of non-whitening toothpaste to the area. Please only use non-gel toothpaste and be cautious because applying too much toothpaste can irritate sensitive skin.

The Pain of a Stain

If you are a parent, you probably know very well of the sneaky wall art kids love doing. For those crayon marks on the wall, you can save yourself a buck and use some non-gel toothpaste with your weapon of choice between a damped cloth or a soft brush. Toothpaste can also get rid of those nasty ring stains in your coffee or tea mug. With just a little bit on a damp cloth or an old toothbrush, scrub it. Have you ever wondered what the weird dark smudge under your iron is? Well, stop worrying. Grab a rag, some non-gel toothpaste, and with some elbow grease, those stains will be gone in no time. Please make sure the iron is cool before potentially burning yourself!

In Case You ‘Mist’ It

If you live in colder regions where goggles or headlights fogging up is a common issue, try rubbing a little bit of toothpaste on the lenses and wipe the residue. For the headlights, use a damp sponge in a circular motion before wiping it down. For the goggles, use your finger to cover toothpaste over the entire surface before wiping it down with a dampened cloth. It’s mind-boggling how, when you think about it, there aren’t a lot of things designed to be single-use purposes. We’ve seen, with some creativity, even if something’s design is single-purposed, it can create a new use for anything.
