How You Can Save on Airfare This Summer

Written by

airportHistorically, summer is not the season to find great travel bargains.

Well, this year is unlike most others.

The U.S. dollar was well on its way to supremacy over many other foreign currencies for the first time in decades when the Brits voted for the Brexit.

Then came a series of terrorist events in Europe, Turkey, and elsewhere.

As a result, it is now cheaper to fly from New York to Hong Kong than New York to Boston.

It’s also less expensive to fly from San Francisco to Istanbul.

Consider fares you can purchase right now.

Boston to St. Lucia is $188 on American Airlines.

How about Philadelphia to Kathmandu? It’s $809 on Qatar Airways.

From San Francisco to Xian in China is just $532 on United Airlines.

Or, you can fly from Portland to Costa Rica for just $439.

All these fares are round trip and include all taxes. Even some shorter domestic flights are on sale this summer.

You can find flights from Dallas to Cleveland on United Airlines for $93, round trip.

In many cases, these fares are good throughout the summer, and some last until fall.
