A new price cut makes the Xbox One cheaper than ever, here are the best bundles

The Xbox One came out of the gate slowly, with hardware that can’t quite match up to the power of the PS4 and an expensive add-on (that not many people wanted) in the shape of Kinect. However in recent months it has come roaring back into contention, prices tumbled when Microsoft took Kinect out of the box, and the line-up of exclusive titles keeps on looking better and better. The PS4 does have the edge in raw horepower, but right now we’re having more fun on our Xbox One.

Not sure which is best for you? Then check out our indepth Xbox One vs PS4 matchup

Alien mega pack – £329, for franchise fans and film buffs

Do you love the Alien films? Like really, really love them? Then it looks like Amazon has the deal for you: right now you can pick up a Kinect-free version of the Xbox One, complete with the Nostromo steelbook edition of atmospheric horror game Alien: Isolation, the Blu-ray Alien Anthology containing all four main Alien films (after all, who counts the awful Alien vs Predator spinoffs?) and a digital download of Forza Motorsport 5. At £329, it’s a serious steal for anyone not after a wide selection of games right from the off as with the ShopTo bundle above. Considering Amazon is selling the base console for £328, you’re essentially getting all those extras for £1.

Xbox One console only – THE SIMPLE CHOICE

After gamers turned their noses up at the more expensive Xbox One, which originally shipped with Kinect in the box, in favour of the cheaper Sony PS4, Microsoft relented and announced a version of the console without the depth-sensing camera. It’s still the cheapest way to pick up an Xbox One, although you’ll miss out on voice controls, automatic login through facial recognition and the ability to play Kinect-enabled games. The standalone console is now available for £330 from the Microsoft Store or you can save yourself a nice round £20 by picking it up for £310 at SimplyGames. At  that price you can pretty much pick your own game, or a couple of  second-hand ones from your local retailer and still be better off than with most of the official bundles.

Xbox One (no Kinect) plus 5 games – ONLY £370

ShopTo is on a roll right now; last week we brought you news of the Assassin’s Creed Xbox One bundle plus Halo: The Master Chief Collection for £360, but now the online retailer has gone even further in pursuit of a bargain – although admittedly not quite as far as it went last week. We previously linked to an Xbox One console without Kinect, plus a whopping 5 games: MGS V: Ground Zeroes, Titanfall, Battlefield 4, Wolfenstein: The New Order and Forza Motorsport 5 going for £350 through Shopto’s Ebay store, but unfortunately that deal has now ended.

Thankfully ShopTo has put a similar deal on its official website, albeit at a slightly increased price. You still get free delivery and physical copies of four of the five games, with Forza Motorsport 5 being replaced with a digital download instead of a disc. That means you can trade them in when you’re finished with them or, as one HotUKDeals member suggested, trade in Battlefield 4 to CEX for a tenner, then buy a one year subscription to EA Access. This might bump the price up to £380 total, but for a little extra work you get unlimited access to most of EA’s Xbox One catalogue, including Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2 and Need For Speed: Rivals, PLUS Battlefield 4. Bargain.

Assassin’s Creed bundle – from £349 with two games

Arguably the most exciting Xbox One console deal yet, you can now get a bundle including both the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Unity and last year’s excellent Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. For an Xbox One and the two games you’ll pay just £349, making it a whole copy of Black Flag better than most the other bundles on offer, see below.

Better still you get the choice of whether you want a Kinect in your bundle, with a £399 bundle including the oft-derided, but actually pretty handy, peripheral. In addition to that you get a copy of Dance Central Spotlight too, so there’s something to entertain the less swashbuckling members of your household. Now that high-street retailer Argos has ended its limited-time promotion for a console and three games, we think this is one of the best deals around.

Xbox One Games bundles – £349 with any game

There are now a ridiclous number of Xbox One and game bundles available online. The vast majority boil down to a very simple and very good deal, you can get a Kinect-less Xbox One plus practically any game of your choice for £350. Amazon alone has a wide range of these £349 bundles. Bundles include, Dragon Age, FIFA 15, Far Cry 4, Forza Horizon 2 and more. If you fancy playing Alien Isolation then Amazon will throw in the Alien Anthology Blu-ray pack for the same price. Similar deals can be had from Asda if you prefer.

Asda CONSOLE checkout code – £20 off (almost) all bundles

If you simply can’t decide on a specific bundle, supermarket chain Asda may be your best choice for Xbox One deals. The promotional code ‘CONSOLE’, applied at the checkout, will knock £20 off the price of (almost) every console bundle currently listed on the website. Unfortunately it doesn’t look as though Asda is willing to let that deal apply to either Assassin’s Creed bundle (see below), but you can get a console without a Kinect camera for £309 once the coupon is applied – making it one of the cheapest deals around. Stock is already running low on the full console complete with camera (£379.99, down from £399) and the FIFA 15 bundle (£329.99 down from £349) but if you move quickly you can pick up the White console bundle complete with Sunset Overdrive for £329.99, down from £350.

It’s not obvious how long Asda will be running this deal for, so you may have to make a decision fast to avoid missing out, although at the time of writing it was still available. We’ll be sure to update this article once the deal has ended.

White Xbox One with Sunset Overdrive – IF YOU LIKE WHITE

If you’re looking for a white Xbox One then you’ll have to pick up the Sunset Overdrive bundle, which was released to coincide with the launch of Insomniac’s crazy shooter. You can buy a white console and game from Microsoft for £349, with consoles shipping on the 31st of October. However, GAME has a better deal; you can get the same bundle, plus a digital download for Forza Motorsport 5 for the same price. Sunset Overdrive has been getting mixed reviews, but at the time of writing it was the only way to pick up a white Xbox One.

Call of Duty bundle – ONLY FOR BIG FANS

One alternaitve to all that is the Xbox One 1TB Call of Duty bundle – which comes with the new 1TB hard disk version of the console (in fancy colours), but no Kinect, plus the game for a whopping £430. Game is actually selling it for slightly less, so you can pick one up for £400.

Xbox One console with Kinect and Sports Rivals – FOR THE ENERGETIC

This used to be the best choice if you were undecided about voice and motion controls – buying the Xbox One with Kinect in the box will save you money should you change your mind later. You’ll be getting the full Xbox One experience as Microsoft intended it, and you can be safe in the knowledge that you won’t be missing out on any features should the company add them at a later date.

Right now Zavvi is listing the console, Kinect and a game for £380. It’s a good deal if you like the motion-activated controls on the old Xbox and want the same functionality with your new console. Kinect is also great for those who use Skype and those who like to talk to their TV.
