8 Beauty Products I Tried And Loved This Month

Part of my job as the editorial director of Glitter Guide is testing way too many beauty products. I’ve been trying to use natural products for the past year or two, but testing all the time makes it kind of hard. However, this month, I’ve found a few really great products and my skin is finally under control after several months of dry patches and constant breakouts.

L’Oréal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation: Cushion compacts are the new ‘craze’ when it comes to full-coverage makeup for the face. I’ve been hooked on light serums and CC creams, so I was hesitant about this product—but I love it! It makes putting on makeup a breeze and I can apply it in a few quick pats and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy or heavy. Plus, it’s very natural looking (and feeling).

Kat Burki Vitamin C Nourishing Cleansing Balm: This admittedly costs more than I’d typically spend on a facial cleanser, but I love, love, love this cleansing balm and how it leaves my skin feeling so soft and supple. It does a great job of removing makeup and doesn’t leave my skin as oily as other cleansing balms.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads: I credit my bout of good skin over the past few weeks to these pads (in combination with the product listed below). They contain lactic and glycolic acid, but are gentle and formulated for daily use. Most toning wipes that I’ve tried leave my skin feeling stripped and dry, but these don’t at all. I use them either at night or in the morning before I apply serum and moisturizer.

Pixi Glow Tonic: I can’t get enough of this stuff! After hearing about it, I set out to find it at Target, but was disappointed to discover it was sold out. However, I found a trial-sized version on an end aisle and splurged on the tiny $6 bottle. I use it in the morning or night (alternating with the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads) and have found it to really make my skin ‘glow.’ It’s also formulated with glycolic acid and I think that’s the magic ingredient to making my skin clear.

NYX BB Beauty Balm: While I was on the hunt for new face makeup before my trip to Charleston, S.C., I tried this on a whim after browsing the aisles of Ulta, and couldn’t be more pleased. It lasts all day, offers great, lightweight coverage, and best of all, it blends in really easily.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer: After running out of my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, I was on the hunt for something a little more fluid—as I found the NARS product to go on great, but eventually cake up in my fine lines under my eyes. I love the coverage of the Naked Skin concealer!

Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Petal Peel: I love face masks and peels, and this one is so gentle but leaves skin feeling refreshed and baby soft.

OPI New Orleans Collection: I haven’t used OPI nail polish in what seems like forever, but I love the colors from the latest collection, especially She’s A Bad Muffuletta! and Let Me Bayou A Drink. Plus, the brush seems shorter and thicker than what I’m used to and the polish lasted for several days without chipping.
