VW to debut ‘2015 Saviero Surf’ at Sao Paulo
Ahead of the Sao Paulo Motor Show, Volkswagen of Brazil has revealed a new, interesting vehicle, the ‘Saveiro Surf’ coupe utility truck. it is single cab pickup truck that is based on the recently revealed ‘Fox Pepper’ concept. As the name suggests, VW has ensured that the owners will be able to carry their surfboards and other stuff in the rear area of the car. The ‘Saveiro’ is originally a modified version of the Subcompact car ‘Volkswagen Gol’ that was developed by VW’s Brazilian division as an entry level automobile for the South American market. The ‘Gol’ was once sold as the ‘Fox’ in the North American market.
VW has tried to give a premium look to the new ‘Saveiro Surf’ with the addition of a single honeycomb grille and 15 inch stylish alloy wheels. There is also a mounted roof bar in the truck. There is also decent amount of equipment in the truck – air condition, front air bags, adjustable steering wheel and aluminum pedals. The funky looking utility truck will draw power from a 1.6 liter engine that will produce 76 kW or 104 HP power when running on ethanol and 74 kW or 101 HP when running on petrol. It is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox.
