Chevrolet asks fans to name 2015 Camaro SS Special Edition

The ‘Camaro’ nameplate holds an iconic place among classic American cars. The first ever ‘Camaro’ muscle/ pony car was launched in 1966 as 1967 model year by General Motors owned brand Chevrolet. Since then a total of five generations of the model has been built with the fifth generation model being developed from a concept car. Now the legendary nameplate is all set to get a new addition.

Chevrolet is showcasing a special edition ‘Camaro SS’ at the 2014 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) meet in Las Vegas. While the manufacturer has added some customizations, it is yet to find a suitable name. Chevrolet has decided to take the public opinion to name the car. Car enthusiasts are now given the opportunity to send names for the car that will reach dealers in early 2015. To make the new edition of the’ Camaro SS’ an eye catching car, Chevrolet has painted it in an striking exterior color of Emerald Green. Other additions are chrome 21-inch wheels, SS hood extractor ( body color), ZL1 rear spoiler ( body color) and special rally stripes in cyber grey. The appearance of the cat has been made more sporty with an appearance package that consists of LED taillights, HID headlights, and a revised front grille. The car will run on a 6.2 liter V8 engine with 426 horsepower and torque of 569 Nm or 420 lb-ft and will come with 6-speed manual transmission.
