While giants of the mobile tech business like Samsung and Sony are still struggling to update some of their best, newest products to the latest, greatest Android iteration, a little known US company by the name of InFocus has managed to load Marshmallow goodies into a 2012-reminiscent WVGA 4.5-incher.
Yes, the InFocus Bingo 10 sports a pretty horrible display with a cringe worthy 854 x 480 pixels resolution and resulting 217 ppi density, yet it somehow already offers cutting-edge software tweaks and add-ons including Doze Mode and Google Now on Tap.
India has truly become the land of all possibilities, as the Bingo 10 costs the incredibly low equivalent of $65 on Snapdeal. Of course, that’s a small fortune compared to the controversial Ringing Bells Freedom 251, priced around those parts at 251 rupees, or $3.66.
Unlike the Freedom 251, the Android 6.0-powered bargain will definitely ship in the foreseeable future (seven days, tops), though despite its OEM’s roots, an American launch appears improbable.
Anything else worth mentioning about the Bingo 10’s specs besides the pre-installed OS? Not really, even if the cameras could have probably been worse than 5MP. You then get sub-par hardware through and through, from a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6580M processor to 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, 2,000 mAh battery, and 3G connectivity.
Still, the Rs. 4,300 tag that converts to $65 is 25 full bucks south of the lowest US rate of the second-gen Motorola Moto E, which might never score a regional Marshmallow upgrade. Talk about the deal of a lifetime staring you in the face.
