If you are talking about the best iMac and the best Mac Pro, no.

The best Mac Pro has a pair of 2.66 GHz Six Core 45-nm Xeon X5650 (Westmere) processors (total of 12 cores) with a dedicated 256k of level 2 cache for each core and 12 MB of “fully shared” level 3 cache per processor.

The best iMac has a single 3.4 GHz quad core (4 cores) i7 with a dedicated 256k of level 2 cache for each core and 8 MB of “fully shared” level 3 cache.

Even if they were the same processors, any professional would need the Mac Pro with four internal slide-out HDD bays, dual-ethernet (connect to two networks at once), and four Firewire 800 ports. If you really do things with a computer, rather than just brag about the speed, you will appreciate the Mac Pro.
