2 SUST students held over militant link

Police arrested two students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) from separate places in the city on Wednesday for their suspected link to militancy, UNB reports .

The arrestees were identified as Roknuzzaman Rana, a student of the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department, and Mehedi Hasan Tuhin, a student of the Industrial and Production Engineering Department.

SUST student welfare adviser Rashed Talukdar said a team of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of police picked up Rana from Tapoban area in the afternoon.

Later, the same team picked up Tuhin from Surma residential area. Earlier, the CTTC had arrested four students of the university for their suspected involvement in militant activities.
