BT’s putting up the costs of its Kids, Kids Extra and Music channels packages in July.
The three bundles, which give BT TV customers access to channels like Cartoon Network, the Disney Channel and MTV, currently cost £3/month apiece, but from July 3 onwards, they’ll be going up to £4/month.
BT TV is available from no extra cost to BT Broadband customers. As well as giving customers access to a range of premium channels not available on Freeview via their BT Internet connection, BT TV customers can add things like Sky Sports and Netflix as well as kids shows and music videos to their package.
Notice of the price rises can be found on BT’sProducts and Services page, under a grey tab which when clicked on, reveals a list of price rises. Until recently, this tab only revealed details ofincoming line rental rises and landline call charges.
As of July, the standard rate of line rental will be going up from £17.99/month to £18.99/month.
On top of this, the line rental saver option – which lets you pay for a year’s worth of line rental up front – is increasing from £194.28 to £205.08.
The cost of BT Sport is also going up from July 3 onwards; while the standard definition channels will still be free for BT TV customers, customers taking them in HD will be paying £5/month instead of £4. The direct cost of BT Sport on Sky TV is also jumping to £21.99/month, up from £19.99/month.
