Fall is in the air, and we’re changing up our beauty routines to match the cooler weather. To us, this means darker and bolder lips! Some shades may look daunting in the tube or pot, but when you give them a go, most will really surprise you. Different formulas create different effects, so whether you prefer matte, creamy, bright or muted, we’re trying them out to show you that bold lips are for all of us!

Lifestyle blogger Alexandra Grant of To Vogue or Bust has medium-toned skin and is rocking four bold lip shades with both cool and warm undertones to show you how they can all work harmoniously on the same skin tone!

The Sheer Vampy Lip: Applying Kjaer Weis in Goddess with your fingers gives a very sheer coverage. While it looks dark in the pot, the formula is very creamy and transparent—build up the level of intensity coat by coat.

The Perfect Pink Lip: M.A.C Pink Pigeon is a bold magenta. This bright and cool shade looks super modern and gives intensity with just one coat.

The Proper Red: Burberry Military Red is a creamy true red; it’s bright and seasonal (the holidays are coming!), and we love its attention-grabbing nature!

The Bright Coral: Orange lipsticks come in all shades, but this Lipstick Queen Saint Fire Red shade is sheer and has a warm coral undertone, which works well on Alex’s medium-toned skin.
