On June 30, Apple officially released iTunes 12.2, which introduced support forApple Music, Beats 1, and Connect.

Now, less than two weeks later, Apple has released its first update for the latest version of iTunes, bumping up the version to 12.2.1. When Apple launched Music on June 30 as well, there were some issues embroiled within the release of iTunes, which included some users’ iTunes Match music libraries being deleted, and some iTunes Match subscribers being unable to sign up for Apple Music altogether.

This new release should alleviate those issues, as well as fix some others:

  • Fixes an issue for iTunes Match where iTunes incorrectly changed some songs from Matched to Apple Music.
  • Provides a way to correct a library problem affecting former iTunes Match subscribers.
  • Includes minor bug fixes and improvements for Beats 1.

Some major changes are tuned towards Beats 1 radio as well, which is built into the Apple Music service.

The update is available now through the Mac App Store and the Updates tab.
